Can Ashwaganda Replace Levothyroxine for Stress?

Ashwaganda I saw integrative medicine for digestive problems towards the end of last year, and it was recommended I take ashwaganda supplements for stress. Then later that day the doctor messaged me and said not to take it since I’m already taking Levothyroxine and ashwaganda can increase thyroid function. So that leaves me to wonder, is it possible to ditch the synthetic drug and use ashwaganda instead? Has anyone ever tried or heard of this?

I don't believe ashwagandha can directly raise thyroid levels. What it can do is support your adrenals. Thyroid dysfunction is often a result of adrenal dysfunction. So if you take the pressure off of the adrenals it may help the thyroid as well.
