Dealing with Anxiety After a Fight with My Wife

So my wife and I had a big fight. She left and said she needed some time. We talked about it for almost 5 hours and she agreed to come back. We both agreed we need to work on our relationship and communication. And I need to take better care of my self. The problem is now my Anxiety is through the roof cause I’m always wondering if I’m doing “Enough” to keep her happy so she won’t leave. It’s almost like I don’t know how to act at home anymore. It’s supposed to be you come home from work to relieve stress from the day and now as soon as I walk through the door my Anxiety shoots through the roof even more cause I’m on high alert looking for signs.😞

      This is the age old issue between married couples. I suffer from the same thing in my marriage. However, each person in a relationship needs to be able to find peace and love within themselves before demanding it from others. All relationships need upkeep but it shouldn't be where you need to be so engaged just to keep the relationship floating. My wife and I have been together 21 years (since high school) and we still have our fights. But we both need to make ourselves happy first.

      I don’t want to oversimplify here, but constant verbal communication is key. Whatever it is you’re feeling, tell her. Whatever it is you’re thinking, tell her. Watch things change for the better. Women want to hear and they want to be heard. They want to have their thoughts and their feelings validated. All of this is impossible without verbal communication, and if you put it out there verbally, you don’t have to live in the prison of the your wondering mind.

      Is it worth looking deeper into why you feel like you may not be doing "enough" and not just wether or not you are. What's making you feel inadequate? Resentment bubbles up in a lot of weird ways. Im no medical professional but I've seen feelings of inadequency turn into subconscious grudges.
