Hey!! I just got the app and wanted to know if other people who daydream constantly make up their own plot or if they are like me and take inspo off of movies and even insert themselves into the movie/anime/show they watched?

I do this all the time with shows, movies, and books I like. But also I would create a whole new world that begins to blend into others.

I do, have done for years, I knew there was something different about me for years but only found the name for it this year. Mine are usually situations where I'm being funny/clever/ brave in front of someone I like/fancy.

I constantly do this! It will be either Harry Potter, Stranger Things, people I've associated with in the past but no longer do now, celebrities, and now Wednesday šŸ˜…! I will have full on conversations with characters that don't exist and when I'm listening to music a whole film plays in my head (that I sometimes act out) about me in that world with those characters. I use it as a coping mechanism for the most part! A lot of times I will make up a story about how I get with the character I'm crushing on lol

My day dreams are influenced by the media I consume. If I watch a movie (for example a Marvel movie) the dream is now set in a similar universe. That is until I get sick of it and go back to my original setting. The characters tend to stay the same though.

Welcome!! I hope you like it here and find the community helpful. Everyone in my daydreams aside from the fictional me is based off of a fictional character. I actively tried to include real people from my life as well as original characters when I was a bit younger but it always felt very wrong and I ended up dropping the scene/plotline halfway through šŸ˜… The mechanics of my paracosm are such that interdimensional travel is fairly easy, leading to the ability to visit and bring people back from multiple media sources (usually whatever I'm fixated on at the moment but only some of the time, idk what exactly determines the eligibility). Lots of crossover shenanigans and original plots though, plus character development! They're based off of existing characters, sure, but they're all very much my OCs at this point especially since some of them have been developed for years now

I would say I do a decent mix of both. Some of my daydreams are based off some story that I insert myself into, or they are about future events or past events that I imagine having a different outcome.

I dabble in a little bit of everything tbh. Sometimes Iā€™ll be thinking about something random and it suddenly becomes a day dream, other times I just continue dreams I had from the night before, and still other times I draw up a world from a book or movie or tv series and insert myself inside. Which makes paying attention to the book/movie/tv pretty difficult lol.

@Kungpaobeef Also i just got the app too and realized that the timer next to your post refers to minutes, not months. Wack.
