I've been through a lot in my life and everything has been rough lately. Maladaptive daydreaming has been like an escape for me but I've heard that it can be negative if you do it too much. I've been trying my best to do it less but if I'm not actively doing something then I'm daydreaming.

I tried to stop for a while because I also heard it was negative, but honestly I think as long as it isn't getting in the way of life (preventing you from doing tasks, mentally harming you, etc.) it can be a decent coping mechanism.
