Hey, so I was diagnosed with POTS in early 2019. Ever since then I have been feeling something like Imposter syndrome since I don't pass out often, I have only passed out twice, and they were before I got diagnosed. And only when I had the Flu. Does anyone else feel this way as well?

To everyone: you are fighting an invisible illness most do not understand. It certainly does not make anyone less than. I too have those feelings at times and I have never fully passed out I have been close but I only experience presyncope. Whether you have it in a mild or debilitating case or somewhere in between everything is valid, you are valid, your feelings are valid. If an accommodation or mobility aid makes your life better use it, okay. Much love to all my fellow POTS warriors out there! Best of luck on your journey, I'm so proud of you all.šŸ’•

Iā€™ve never passed out but my heart rate just sky rockets and I feel really weak when it happens. Mine has gotten better with increasing my fluid intake and slowly increasing my exercise. The o lot time it really happens for me now is in the middle of the night when I stand up to go to the bathroom.

I feel the same way, I tell myself to stop feeling dramatic bc I donā€™t fully pass out I just have near syncope, so I always feel like Iā€™m not sick enough like you said, itā€™s such a shit feeling :(

I've only passed out once and I feel like an imposter around people who are like "omg i pass out every day." I don't want to pass out of course, but I feel like crap around the people who have it "worse" because it makes me feel like I'm complaining about nothing

me too!! especially since doctors say its not technically a disability. I feel so bad asking for accommodation when I have what just feels like a silly little condition

Omg i didnā€™t know anyone else felt this way about their conditions.. i consistently feel like iā€™m somehow making too big of a deal when others reassure me i am not :( i totally get the ā€œnot sick enoughā€ feeling, despite all symptoms.

Oh yes! I only get presyncope and havenā€™t fully passed out that Iā€™m aware of so I feel somehow less than others with the same condition

Definitely. I don't think I've ever passed out so I definitely feel like my symptoms are exaggerated and I'm "not sick enough"
