I have seen so many things about how POTS patients should be on a low carb diet. I mentioned it to my doctor and she advised against it. Instead, she suggested a Mediterranean diet. What kind of diet do you all follow?

I have had so much trouble with eating (probably undiagnosed eating disorder and gastroparesis) that I just eat whatever my body wants me to. I try to limit certain things like caffeine, and eat lots of salt.
Hi! I've had POTS for about four years. I feel for my body carbs are important but I have to pair them with protein plant or animal based. But in acute flares or when I'm really weak (too tired to put alot of effort in eating) I reach for carbs first- then I go for more nutritious food once I'm feeling slightly better. I usually follow the Mediterranean diet- because of other illnesses. My main priority in my diet is whole foods, high salt, and adequate fluids. Nutrition highly individual so best of luck to you in your journey.

I dont at all avoid carbs, only specific foods like chocolate as the sugar messes with my POTS a bit. Small meals have helped me reduce blood pooling and I drink three to four liters of water a day with salt. I have gastroparesis so I am low fiber and Im careful about too much fat as it hurts, but I have only seen worsening of my POTS if I dont have a decent amount of carbs.
Never heard that low carb diet is suggested for POTS, I follow this kind of diet because I have diabetes but I didn't notice that it improved my POTS symptoms
I don't follow a specific diet, but I try to eat according to some recommendations from my doctor. I use to eat small meals, drink at least 2 liters of water, and avoid alcohol.
