I don't like when doctors are so hesitant to use the proven most effective treatment for ADHD. It gets in the way of their patients success. Stimulants aren't the devil, and the same goes for doctors who refuse to give opioids for pain relief associated with severe pain where it would have otherwise been effective. Worse yet, those who have been on them long term and are having success, yet spontaneously have their medication pulled for nonsensical reasons.

Taking GABA which is an inhibitory neurotransmitter that is naturally produced in the body and is therefore considered to be safe. Low levels are associated with ADHD therefore I take it daily and I think it helps me stay focused and calm. In addition I take Ritalin when I need to do something for a long time

Kava kava, ashwaghanda and reishi mushroom supplement helps me!
Htp-5 is another supplement to look into
Some people have found help with l-theanine and gaba. I also remember my mom trying me with a bunch of supplements because some dietary deficiencies can make adhd symptoms worse. Some foods/ingredients can make adhd worse like red dye #40, white bread, corn syrup, added fructose, dark chocolate... there are also non stimulant medications and certain blood pressure meds in low doses can help.
I'll try kratom. Thanks for that info
Commenting so that I can hear the advice too, I’m not being medicated currently for this. I do really like kratom, which is my favorite herbal medicine, but I’m only taking it at night because my current dose makes me nauseous if I’m up and moving. When I was taking it during the day it really helped my depression and anxiety, but I didn’t recognize any of my adhd symptoms yet so I’m not sure how it works for that.
Like more holistic medicine. My doctor doesn't want to put me on adderall
