When I was adopted my family had a chocolate lab named Princess, she was my best friend, we did everything together, nails, hair, eat food, make messes, she'd walk with me to the bus stop every morning, the last morning she walked with me to the bus stop, and a few hours later, my school gets a phone call, that I needed to come home, my parents came and got me and had me say my final goodbye to her in person, and ever since then I can hear a dog walk into my room to check on me and the image is always a chocolate lab watching over me.

Even years later, I think of them.

i lost a kitten back in 2020. he was the shit. i remember getting strep throat and coughing so hard that i woke up in the middle of the night and knocked him off the bed, i felt so bad but he just jumped back up and snuggled with me. he would scroll for me when i had tiktok open. wait for me on the closed toilet while i showered. gave me kisses, it was like clockwork, before i left for school or before bed. i made him a little necklace with his name on it, i've worn it everyday since he passed in a freak accident. absolutely tore me to shreds, i had never lost a pet let alone in the way he had died, i remember not eating for a week, sleeping in my mom's bed for a month or two, and i still can't do the activity associated with his death (i don't want to say it outright). but i think about how the last time i saw him, i told him i loved him and he gave me a little kiss. i know he loved me and that he knew i loved and cared about him. i can't say that i have any specific tips, but that it does get easier. look at the good memories. know that your animal loved you. don't rush to replace her, give yourself time to heal.

I just lost my dog 2 weeks ago, it’s been hard but I just keep trying to move forward. My condolences to everyone else that has lost their pet ❤️
So sorry for your loss. I lost my service dog last year in a house fire and though it's getting very close to being a year I still struggle. I have a new prospect that is being trained but there are days that I just can't train with her still because looking at her reminds me of what I've lost. It can be hard but I promise it will get easier as time goes on.
I’m so sorry about your fur baby😔I lost my childhood dog he was a dachshund and he was 16. Every since December I’ve started to feel depressed again after not being for a long time. The loss is so hard but I try to think of how he was suffering and now he’s happy in heaven playing with his friends now pain free
Yes, lost my cat of 11 years. She was my emotional support animal. I miss her everyday😞
I lost my family dog 4 years ago right after my birthday. I still get sad when I think about her, she was the best dog and so loyal 😢 it’s gotten easier as time has gone on but I definitely still feel sad over it every now and then
