Any swimmers with POTS have tips? I got POTsy in the water today. I was wondering if anyone has tips on regulating heart rate in the water or lowering it before I even get in.

Interestingly the one time I don't really get potsie is in water. Pools always feel great to me. The gravity and pressure just feel like they disappear. If my heart rate does ever go up I have a waterproof smartwatch. Highly recommended if swimming is something you do often. It can warn you when it begins to climb and then putting yourself in a horizontal position near the side of the pool can help. I would recommend to have someone with you when in the pool to be safe.

@Bambiboo This is the first time I ever got potsy in the water. I usually feel the relief too. I think it might have been because I was dehydrated, swam four laps, and treaded water for ten minutes because I had a swimming exam for scuba class. 😂 Luckily, I don't think I'll have to do that again for a while, but I might and want to be prepared for next time.
