I have a really hard time with my boyfriend falling asleep before I do and I've never known why. He is my FP and he's the only person I've had this problem and I always feel an overwhelming sense of lonliness if he falls asleep. Could this be an abandonment thing? Could I have an issue with it because I feel like he's abandoning me?

I could definitely see it being an abandonment thing because your FP isn't interacting with you so there's some kind of disconnect. I think it could do with object constancy or emotional permanence, not sure which.
for me it feels like 'im not entertaining enough to keep him awake.' and its very self damaging. i have to tell myself he needs sleep just like everyone else, and even if he falls asleep before me, he falls asleep Next to me.
