Does anyone else experience inner voices that aren't their own? I have a few, and they typcially either speak nonsense or offer commentary.

@Fennix honestly what you're both saying is what I completely go through. Similar feelings and all, have you noticed getting better after the first time then up to the 3rd time just succeeding? It could be learning but honestly at the time my mind is blank and I just do it again and somehow do it better, convo or anything.. even mental talk. Yet it's not all the time though. I feel like these things do things all the time but when some form of authority comes to help, your brain is already trained to do it the same way yet without their presence, so then it's looked like "oh he's doing it on his own" and in this "authority " im talking about the beings that are sentient or autonomous. I also feel like, if my mind has gained sentience why is it working toward me? Did something give it so and has its own goals.. idk, I can never fully delve into one theory, I apologize. And I know that "3rd time " thing may sound pure delusional but once it's paid attention to, it's very understandable .

I experience it a lot, and honestly I'm not sure if I should question if it could be an undiagnosed disorder or just chalk it up to an overactive imagination. Mine are sometimes helpful, and other times neutral or can be distracting or potentially dangerous. I hear my own thoughts as internal monologue, but these are voices that differ from my own "head voice" and that I don't voluntarily control. Overall, I haven't found it to completely interfere with day-to-day life, but it can be distracting as well as alter my perception of reality quite a bit. I honestly struggle with this idea a lot because on one hand I wish I could live "normally", but on the other hand I live with the belief that they're independent beings and deserve to be able to exist in some form due to autonomy and also the idea that they're a part of me, no matter how confusing that can be. (I'm not sure if this could potentially be a delusion or not but to be fair you usually don't know that your delusions aren't real which makes things hard) I find I have periods where I don't hear them, or where I just hear occasional independent/disconnected thoughts and other times where I'm capable of carrying out full conversations or allowing other voices to speak to other people (sort of indirectly, because I feel like I'm watching the conversation and that I have minimal control and other times it feels like it's being spoken to me and I'm relaying it verbally like telephone). I don't really know the root cause in my case.

@Blurrie I resonate with everything you say here. Honestly, it wouldn't bother me if some of them weren't so dangerous to my health. I do think they are either parts of me that have achieved some level of sentience or are "put there" for whatever reason. I feel like they deserve to have some level of independence. Though I did seek help (for this and so many other weird things) and was told the cause is likely schizophrenia, so...might be a delusion in my case lol.

Yes ! I think the term is called auditory hallucinations, they can be nonsense , or your inner voice distorted or even a passing conversation sometimes you will hear bits and ends of it for hours as a kid and an adult I suffered alot with this and it can be very scary , confusing and debilitating but there are others like you and I hope to meet them soon ❤️

@Brittle_Skittle Thank you for the kind words. I'm still not sure if it is classified as hallucination since I don't actually hear anything, but it is definitely causing problems no matter what haha. I'm in the process of getting treatment for a lot of things so I hope things get better soon 🙏
