Cinnamon, what is EMDR??? My son suffers from depression. TMS doesn't seem to be available in his area. He really needs help. He's 42 and still has 3 teenagers at home.

I’ve heard nothing but really good things about EMDR from multiple people of all ages who I’ve met in treatment. I would definitely check that out :)

Thank goodness there’s somebody here who’s in my age bracket. I haven’t heard of TMS, but I will ask my doctor about it. Thanks for posting this.

Early in 2020, just before Covid began I had an actual treatment for depression. It is called TMS or Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation. You go once a day, usually week days, 5 days per week for a total of 6 weeks. Similar to an MRI, a helmet is placed on your head and a magnetic beam is delivered to a specific part of your brain. The beam is only for a few seconds and the entire treatment takes about 30 minutes and you remain awake. After the treatment, you can return to work or school, etc. I have fought depression all of my adult life and I'm nearly 70. This treatment has helped me more than anything else that I've ever used. Now, 2 years later, I am much more able to deal with the every day stresses of life. I'm much, much more positive now than I've ever been. I highly recommend that people suffering from depression research TMS for yourselves and find out if it is available in your area. I had my treatment in the Portland, Oregon area. I do know that it is available in some areas of Colorado. It is covered by insurance, I was covered by Medicare. Check it out.
