my doctor says a hysterectomy will not cure my pcos, im having one reguardless for different reasons (transgender and childfree) but will it help reduce the symptoms? specifically insulin resistance?

      If you have cycle related pain, then yes, a hysterectomy will get rid of that symptom. However, a hysterectomy will not reduce PCOS symptoms. By putting your body effectively into menopause, your androgen levels will still be elevated, as those are controlled by your adrenal glands, and not have a lot of estrogen to back it up. It wouldn’t help with insulin resistance either, as your insulin levels are controlled by your pancreas and it’s a whole body process.
