Hi Im Bonehead5918 its nice to meet y'all! I go to get an MRI done on my brain to rule out a 🧠 tumor on Tuesday. My question is. After you had your MRI and it was clear did they make you do the spinel tap? if so how long did it take? how many times did they stick you and did you end up getting a spinel headache after?

to answer the other questions, they stuck me once but had to move the needle around a bit and it took maybe 15/20 mins

i got a spinal tap first to check my pressure, it was crazy high. then they moved to the MRI. the tap itself wasn’t terribly painful but then i went to a festival the day after. thought i’d be fine but it was so hot and i got a headache that wasn’t quite a headache, it felt like my brain was like moving around when i turned my head. it hurt but it wasn’t like the worst pain ever. the iih migraines are way worse

I’ve been dealing with this issue for 10 years a spinal tap is only a temporary fix…after 10 years of being on diamox and topax I decided to have the shunt inserted and it helped

I got my spinal tap first and then an MRI to make sure the increased pressure I had didn't damage anything. Spinal taps are quick, only a few minutes.

It depends what your doctor decides. Some get medical therapy with diamox and some get serial spinal tap. The number of procedures depends on your condition.
