About to start Humira for RA and Inflammatory Spondyloarthropathy, and I'm hopeful, but afraid to be immunosuppressed. Any tips? Just waiting on my TB test to come back before I can take the first shot. Biweekly for now. Test results should be back early next week. I already have my prescription in the fridge waiting for me. This is scary.

It is a little bit spooky, but just take care, wash your hands more frequently and keep up with any recommended vaccinations. I know for me that it makes me a little dehydrated too, so make sure to drink enough water too :)

You got this! It’s scary at first but you get use to it . I was on it and my first set of injections I did my leg then the next time my other leg back and forth like that for a while. Then I even did my tummy and to my surprise it didn’t hurt there at all. Your not alone and always remember your stronger than you think. You made it this far. Sending love and prayers your way. Hopefully it works for you

@Mamaqueen want to reply to this that I was SHOCKED to find my belly much less painful than my thigh, which is the opposite of what I expected. I’m on Enbrel, so, almost the same, and I too was very scared at first, and anxious about starting. Now I’ve been doing my weekly shots for almost a year, and it’s almost normal. I’ve been masking most of that time, but not all of it, and while I caught one cold that took weeks to get rid of, I’ve really been okay.

Some users have shared their experiences with Humira, mentioning that they experienced mild side effects like itching and redness at the injection site, but overall found it helpful in managing their symptoms. It's important to follow your doctor's instructions and monitor any side effects or changes in your condition. Remember to take the auto-injector out of the fridge to reach room temperature before injecting, and consider injecting in your mid-top thigh area. It's normal to feel nervous about starting a new medication, but discussing your concerns with your healthcare provider can help ease your anxiety.
