I have been clean now for a week, longer than I have been in a while. It feels good but I'm missing old habits/: I got out of my home town and living somewhere where I know no one, it's nice but I feel alone

sobriety is a lifelong journey and you will have moments of triumph where you can actively recognize you are making a better choice in a moment that your compulsive habitual brain would typically take over and do the opposite. I've been so we for 6 going on 7 years and I still feel sad/almost like I miss/grieve the wild/reckless/fun version of me that still exists but I've actively subdued for this long... But my moments of cravings and fantasizing are not an everyday thing and I'm at a point where I can rationalize them, accept that there will always be a part of me that wants to do a bunch of lines and smoke a Pack of cigarettes and maybe drive my car off a mountain cliff (true story).... But I make the active choice every day to not engage that part of me anymore.

Good job on one week!! I know it's so hard but this is an amazing start. Just remember to continue the cycle so you can fully recover. You're doing so well, hopefully you can make.some new friends too!

Congratulations on one week! I know it's hard, but the longer you go, the easier is gets. If you ever need to talk to someone, don't hesitate to reach out! 🤗

First of all you’re doing amazing and I’m SO proud of you. It’s not easy, and most people aren’t willing to put in the work you have to get yourself here. That’s why it’s lonely at first. But soon enough you’ll find people like yourself and you’ll all be able to help each other get better every day 💕
