What I do like to do is make lists! Separate the list in different categories, or rank them. It helps to rationalize in my head if what I want is worth the price. If it's higher up on my list or in (x) category I might be more willing to spend money on it. But if it's ranked lower or in (y) category I might reason that i should only get it if it's on sale(at a lower price) or if i have the disposable money for it.

Have you tried the virtual tcg? it's fun and the cards for that are much cheaper... Or are you a shiny cardboard enjoyer?
