Hi everyone. I was diagnosed with PCOS at 12 years old and I'm going to be 24 this week. that's half my life!! I've been on and off different birth controls to try to regulate my period but nothing seems to make my period regular. I first got my period at 10 for a few months then it completely stopped and through all these years I've had my period maybe 10 times total. has anyone else had this happen to them? my estrogen levels have always been low and I also wonder is hormone therapy an option to fix this or is hormonal birth control my only option? the hair on my head is falling out and my facial hair grows like crazy. after shaving it only takes a couple hours for me to feel hair growing back again. it's driving me crazy I feel so masculine it hurts. any tips?

    Have you seen an endocrinologist?

I was on so many meds it was hell. At the age of 32 I had enough and a hysterectomy. Some of the birth controls only help for a short time before they stop. If they ever talk about a med called Lupron or meds similar different say NO. It messed me up, if I can save someone from taking it please listen, lost so many years-still suffering from it and have been off for years. There are some birth controls with higher strengths that can help, but it seems there are limited options for PCOS. Check out the site soulcysters.com they may be able to help as well. Was 14 when I was diagnosed, two years later I was diagnosed with endometriosis and adneomiosis-it all sucks the life out of you if you don’t try to control it. Message me if you want to talk more.
