I don't know how many other people actually do this, but I tend to do other, small things first, and eventually I'll get bored of that thing and move on to the next.
I do 2 things that have seemed to helped so far. 1.) I try to simplify the task as much as possible, I tend to overcomplicate things a lot so making it smaller in my head is suppperrr helpful sometimes. 2.) I saw someone else mention doing a smaller task first until they get bored of it and move onto the other and I second that. I find that if I can do one small thing it usually gives me enough motivation to do more. I've heard with ADHD we tend to struggle with initiating tasks and when you pair that with the dopamine rush you get from doing good things for yourself it's a pretty good combination :)
Initiating the task is always the hardest part for me. I tend to overthink things as well, so I'll try to simplify what I want to do and start off with small steps to reach what I want to. Thank you for the suggestions! :)

How do I motivate myself to do things? Even if it's something I want to do, I really struggle to find the motivation to get up and do it
