      @Migraineblues It doesn’t effect me personally, and it doesn’t seem to be on the common side effect list for Emgality, but depression could be a possible side effect. I haven’t heard too many people having issues with it though. Topiramate (Topamax) on the other hand did make me depressed when I got past 100mg and switching to the extended release (Trokendi) got rid of (most of ) the nasty side effects.

      I’m 22, my current migraine protocol includes Botox, Occipital nerve blocks, IV magnesium, Trokendi XR, Namenda, and Emgality. If the “injections” you’re referring to are CGRPs, then Emgality is the one that has helped me. I have also tried Amiovig but that ones didn’t work for me.

        @Donkeyfarts do you know if emgality affects serotonin? I heard it can make you depressed ?

      I had trigger point injections in my neck and shoulders and didn’t find much relief from that and now I do Botox, only had one round so far and haven’t felt much relief at all but I was told it may take up to 3 rounds to help With migraine. I also took every triptan but I needed them so much they started to give me rebound headaches so I had to get off of that and I now take nurtec as needed

      I'm older than that. But the nurtec migraine pill,botox, dry needling and cupping has helped me the most. I was on triptans forever and the migraines would last a week or longer. Sometimes I need toridol inj from neurologist, but I've been able to stay out of the e.r. for a while now

      I have tried over 6 different medications, botox, acupuncture, breathing therapies, change in diet and exercise, supplements and more. The only things that have made a difference for me were a tems device called cefaly, naratriptan and prochlorperizine and ondansetron for nausea. As well as cbd can be incredibly helpful. My main issue was tmj from a concussion and since treatment mine have significantly decreased.

      Hi im 22. Dont take injections but I've being taking topomax as a preventive and sumatriptan as an abortive. Dr changed topomax to 50mg and since that change i have not had any relief. Plus the side effects are; tingling in my fingers, more frequent headaches and loss of appetite. When I first started the medicine back in 2019 I had no problems. Hopefully I will be on a different preventive soon

        @olivesunflower Im 21, I used to take tompomax and now I'm on verapamil. It's been worki.g great 4 me

      I usually take aimovig but I cant take it right now cause im pregnant but thankfully my obgyn persribed me medicine for them

          @Migraineblues I took aimoveg for maybe 6 months and saw no results whatsoever. But it isnt bad at all to inject and didnt see any bad side effects either so not too bad to try out

          @Migraineblues the only side affect i had it when I injected it after I would get a red bump and it would get really itchy but I would dissappear within like 4 days and then I was fine

      i don’t take injections but i do take imatrex pills and nasal as an emergency medication! they do come in an injection format but i haven’t needed it yet. when i have a bad migraine and i don’t have that near me i take 2 benadryl and 600mg of ibuprofen! it’s not perfect but it helps. i’m also on 2 preventative medications!

          @Migraineblues I was also taking imatrex pills but I was getting migraines so often and got it worse and my neurologist said those pills were causing rebound headaches
