I am really frustrated with my dad. He doesn’t get that even if I had stamina that the minute that pain increased that all of that stamina disappears. I just got a new wheelchair for my job and my dad doesn’t like it. And all that he says is I need to get my stamina up.

@origins_of_aether tell them to use a wheelchair/rollator for an entire day and then say it's NOT a serious workout lol. I broke my knee when I was 19 and my leg may have atrophied but I spent six months straight on arm day and was JACKED by the time I stopped using crutches

I myself am looking to get a Mobility aid and my parents just think I need to work out more instead of sitting down all day. I know the pain it is really hard to deal with. I hope he understands soon!

@origins_of_aether I really have no hope for my dad. He’s stuck in his ways. His way is the only right way. He thinks that just pushing thru will make it all better but he’s really dumb

@laidir my dad is the same way. I just ignore him at this point.

Unfortunately, you will most likely encounter a lot of people who don't believe you and your medical needs, regardless of their relation to you. It's best to try to focus on how your new wheelchair makes you feel as opposed to others; hopefully through seeing how much you enjoy it and how it truly benefits you, your dad will grow to understand. Easier said than done, but keep sticking up for yourself and your needs!

whack him in the diaphragm every time he stubs his toe or bumps his hand and then tell him to get his stamina up
