I’m going to be honest I feel so distant from my family, there’s this cycle of negativity such as judging, screaming, making people feel bad to make you’re self feel better, anger issues and it’s effecting my family and I relationship because I’m the only one who is trying to break the cycle and build a better life for myself but it’s affecting me and my family idk what to do. Family is everything to me and I want to keep them in my life but it’s hard to change when they remain the same and they make fun of you for wanting to be better then how I was raised. :( it’s depressing and it makes me feel like the bad guy. Idk how to feel or do in this situation.

@Strawberry_Princess Thanks. I also need someone who has done stem cell treatment and can walk me through the process of getting the information and the treatment. I’m getting the run around at Cleveland Clinic and I’m tired of it. They act like I should already get it. I need to discuss the procedure with a doctor and I am tired of being jerked around by the way they do intake and the way I’m getting treated (or not if you get my meaning.) 😤

Let me tell you from experience.. blood doesn’t always equal family. I am closer to my moms adopted parents than my biological grandparents. My adopted grandparents always treated me as their own and taught me about Christ, love and respect. My dads parents only liked to use the grandkids to brag, post pictures and not make any effort to get to know my siblings and I until we were older. My dad was determined to break that generational cycle and so can you! Family can be people at church, a support group, friendships, close colleagues, etc. You have the knowledge that your family is severally lacking! You need to set clear boundaries, counseling for you or family counseling. If they aren’t willing to do that or receive help, I would not live with them. It will not get any better. I would suggest another relative, roommate, government assistance programs, etc. You’re hurting yourself by staying in a toxic environment. You need to take care of yourself and find others that support you. Church is a great way to get plugged in if you are into faith, God has provided me with great peace and comfort. If not, support groups, these types of platforms and friendships will be vital for you. Stay strong!

🙏 I’m disabled and I wonder if anyone cares about building real relationships with me. I have Polycystic Kidney Disease and End Stage Renal Disease Stage 5 and my family doesn’t get it. I’m getting ready to go to get stem cell treatment soon and I need to get my family together and straighten out some things.

You can still keep them close ... at a distance. Phone calls and visits go a long way. It's OK to keep family at a healthy distance.

@XxStarDeityxX that’s what I’m trying to do but they make it seem like I don’t care about them and they tell me and it makes me feel so down because it’s not true

@Eli97 It sounds like the relationships are toxic. Ask the Holy Spirit to show you what to do and how to deal with it. If you’re Christian. Otherwise just keep doing what you are doing but don’t share ideas and dreams with them. Sounds like you are surrounded by dream killers.
