Curious to know if others who are diagnosed with fibromyalgia also have allergies / sensitivities?

Loads. Known allergic to NSAIDS and morphine. I have angioedema and urticaria. I have had them since I was a teenager. I am prescribed 360mg fexofenadine daily. I have been referred to the consultant immunologist. I will be tested on like I am a science project.

I'm allergic to penicillin, codeine, aspirin, liquid milk, watermelon and tree nuts and THC and have been for most of my life. I also have year round allergies to outdoor plants but not grass. My fibro flares with all of these.

I have intolerance to chocolate, white sugar and other food. They make my stomach upset and give me a headache but I love chocolate so I get a headache most of the days 🤣🤣🤣

@CrazyMeerkat have you tried the chocolate substitute Carob. You can cook with it and buy candy from some companies.

I have a runny itchy nose and pruritus and I take anti histamines regularly. I am very sensitive to caffeine, weather, noise, smells and I have IBS. I can barely tolerate some clothes, particularly underwear.

I toss and turn for at least 20 minutes before I get sort of comfortable in bed. I am like the princess and the pea with 18 mattresses! My temperature comfort Range is like 68 to 72 degrees. I think I Could be sensitive!!! Oh yes, I also have to cut all tags off my clothes.

oh for sure. i think there's a lot of crossover between fibro and mcas, which is basically just your body having allergic reactions all the time for unknown reasons. so that's always a good thing to look into. i have particular sensitivity to peppermint, caffeine, and the sun, so mine are weirdly specific lol

I do for sure. I'm on anti histamines all year round. I believe it's quite common to have this 'lovely' combination!!!!!

@Nalabird I’ve been thinking about it a lot lately as my symptoms are always a lot worse when I’ve eaten something that doesn’t agree with me! My problem is I can’t figure out what it is that I’m reacting to as it’s not the common things such as eggs, milk, nuts etc. What do you take antihistamines for?

@Natz I have this problem too. Started doing Activia as a probiotic. Helped out ALOT. I also looked into inflammatory causing foods to kind of see what could cause my stomach to get so "angry". I also highly recommend food journaling. You don't have to right down tiny details, but if you find a connection with foods go smaller til you find the ingredients alike.

@Natz I have food colouring intolerances which I had highlighted when I was a child, however 2 of my meds contain the 1 colour E110 sunset yellow. The other is E102 tartrazine. I also react to perfumes/aftershaves, scented toiletries & alot of make up products. Then there's grass & tree pollen (hay fever). Quite a list seeing it typed out!!!
