Hi, I was wondering if anyone going thru perimenopause is using birth control for improving the symptoms as well as long-term prevention of illnesses ? Also, what’s everyone’s take on HRT. I know it’s has been controversial, but I’m kinda of leaning towards taking it once I’m menopausal. I would Appreciate any info or experience any has. Thank you

I have been on a low-dose birth control pill for about 6 months and I use micronized progesterone cream. I’ve noticed that my moods are much better, mood swings are less frequent and I don’t feel down as often. My periods were erratic and heavy, trouble staying asleep and anxiety was bad. The pill has helped with every symptom. I’m planning on staying on the pill 3 more months and then BHRT while I slide into menopause, hopefully soon. I would encourage you to try a low-dose pill if your health history allows it. Good luck ☺️

Hi I'm taking estroven for my symptoms. I hope that helps you. I have been having pain in my breast for a few weeks now, do you experience that?

@Gettingolder Hi, no I don’t have that, but I did started having occasional night sweats and bigger than normal mood swings during pms. I’ve been reading that it’s good to take both estrogen and progesterone together if you still have your uterus intact which will protect from uterine cancer.
