i’ve felt a similar way when i was younger, i realized that i was looking for something from other people that i had to give myself. self soothing has been a rough journey because i wasn’t taught it when i was young, but it’s better than asking for support and being let down all of the time ☺️

Your reaction is completely valid and justified. The most appropriate way to help someone most of the time is to be a good listener. When you decide to support another person, you need to adjust to their needs rather than inserting too much of yourself into the equation. I think many people want to help, but aren’t sure how to and aren’t prepared. There’s nothing wrong with how you feel 🫂
