Has anyone used a chiropractor for TMJD? The right side of my jaw will not stop getting stuck or clicking in one spot and it’s been driving me crazy for months. I think it’s from grinding teeth at night but can’t afford a quality mouthguard right now to see if that helps.

      Take glucosamine and msm along with anti inflammatory meds. Ice and heat for the muscle issues and soft food diets!

      Nope you don't want to do that. They are not trained in tmj and it's a veryyyy delicate area that can make it way worse for you

      I have TMJ issues and I can tell you my symptoms are worst when treated with a chiropractor. I would not suggest doing that at all, they do not understand the reality of the TMJ issues. I got a professional and OTC mouthgard, in my opinion there’s not much difference between the two other than minor changes in comfort. But agree if you grind your teeth in your sleep, definitely get one of the other. I suggest an OTC one. Your focus should be on finding ways to reduce inflammation in the body, particularly with joints/cartilage. I suggest something natural like sea moss - read on it. Also, chondroitin, fish oil, etc. Hot/cold packs help too. You can also buy patches for muscle pain and apply to the jaw area.

      A mouth guard is a great start. I've been seeing a chiropractor who specializes in cervical spinal issues (which I was told by many drs and dentists would help) and I've noticed a VERY EXTREMELY MILD improvement. I have had more success with daily facial massage, topical pain/arthritis oils and balms, and ibuprofen. Best of luck, it is an awful thing to deal with

      Yeah it helps but super painful when my jaw gets relianed again back in place 😢

      I have had this issue for years, it's definitely from grinding teeth in sleep. My right side of my jaw would get stuck and I would have to push it back into place. At one point it got inflamed and now I can't open my jaw more than half way. I wanted to see a doctor but my parents didn't think it was serious. Please go to a doctor and get a mouth guard, before it gets much worse.
