How do you handle therapy bias? I’ve had multiple times when therapy actually makes my situation worse because I’ve taken the advice of my therapist despite them not fully understanding the situation. I communicate everything I can but they can still only understand so much. I recently had a new friend that was told by her therapist that she never should have let someone with BPD into her life, and now resents me even though nothing between us has even happened. I’ve lost hope in therapy. It hasn’t been helping me and now this is making me even more resistant to going back. Does anyone else experience this?

If they refuse to give you the time to explain everything, change the therapist. Therapists are not all knowing beings, dont let them act like such, stand up for what you know. If they refuse to listen to you, do not listen to them. Worst case scenario: If they use manipulation and trauma against you to get you to talk, record the session. I've been through an abusive therapist, its horrible because others will not take your word and they could easily turn other people against you using their reputation as a professional.
