How do you all deal with panic attacks? I have very intense flash backs and sometimes they’re simply too much and I can’t seem to find a good way to snap out of it/ use my DBT skills in the moment.

It depends how bad. If I can’t handle it and it’s physical I take Valium. If it’s mental / intrusive thought I take haloperidol. If it’s something lower scale I use essential oils (lavender) , distraction, coloring books, watching a show if I can focus. The best thing I have ever done was to buy a weighted blanket. It makes me feel so safe.
if you can catch it right as it's about to start, if you suck on a super sour candy it helps knock your nervous system out of fight or flight, for me i take war heads and it helps a LOT. also breathing slow square breathing (2-4 seconds for each, breathe in, hold 2-4sec., breathe out 2-4 sec., hold 2-4 sec) to catch your breath if you're hyperventilating or breathe as deep as you can and hold it for not quite as long as you can but as long as it feels right, sometimes for me just filling up my lungs and puffing my chest and holding it super long, when i breathe out it's like i feel slower and less panicked

I honestly play a game on my phone that takes a lot of concentration and it can take me a couple hours to completely get out of the panic attack cycle but it’s really the only thing that works for me.
