How has bipolar affected you?

It affects my relationships and how I see myself more than anything. Sometimes I’m so confident in myself and feel like I can conquer anything, then when I’m at a low I can’t even seem to dress myself without crying. Now these are extremes, but nonetheless it’s still difficult. Now I try to think about bipolar being my superpower, as my emotions are heightened and I can identify what I feel so very quickly. Other times, when it gets in the way of what I’m trying to communicate, or I feel out of control, it’s hard to find a grasp on reality. It all depends on how you look at it really. Bipolar isn’t meant to be easy, you just have to learn who you are and how you can handle certain episodes. I still haven’t gotten the hang of it, as I’m newly diagnosed.

it took a lot of time from me, worked on my college degree from 19-27 because i had to take years off due to long depression episodes. It has also destroyed a lot of relationships but I am doing so much better today! I’m better at navigating and coping now
