Has anyone taken Duloxetine / Cymbalta for Vulvodynia ? I am very sensitive to medications and am scared to try it. I recently took nortryptiline for a few months and had horrible side effects on it and afterwards. I still don’t feel myself. I took amitriptyline for several years and the pain stopped all together. I was able to go off of it eventually and was pain free for two years, but now it’s back. I’m on it again now but have had a different reaction to it the second time around and my doctor wants to try something else.

I tried cymbalta, it worked really well for the pain but I couldn’t stay on it because of how it made me feel. I was so out of it, there would’ve been no way I could drive while taking it or anything. I am however only 17 so technically too young for it so it might be worth a try. For me the biggest help was pelvic floor physical therapy and using vaginal dilators. I also went off of birth control pills recently and my symptoms completely disappeared, not sure if that applies to you but I figured I’d throw it in.

Has something changed in your life before the pain sprung again? New relationship, new job or anything?

@Tomato Nope, the only thing I can think of is that I got the Moderna vaccine and had a lot of inflammation following it and changes in my cycle. I’m not anti vax at all just observing.
