How do you cope with watching someone die? My best friend is dying of sepsis and liver cirrhosis. Her doctors put her on hospice and she gets a biopsy tomorrow (Monday) to see how long she has left. It’s so hard seeing her rot away so young and I can’t bear the thought of her not being around anymore.

Be gentle and compassionate with yourself- this is the hardest, most complex situation you can be in. She is lucky to have you there with her, and that’s probably all she wants.

I am so so sorry. Having a friend, more or less a best friend, be sick is hard. To loose them, there aren’t words. While it’s hard, know that hearing is the last thing *reported* to go, and while it’s hard, being there for her and her knowing that you’re there, her hearing your voice and feeling your touch, are memories you won’t regret. It’s okay for it to be painful. And don’t feel like, or let anyone tell you, that it isn’t okay to grieve. I lost my brother 3 years ago and it was the hardest thing I’ve ever been through, but m thankful now I was there for his last breath.

Take time and spend as much time you can with them. Also, take time and journal how it makes you feel

Sometimes just being there for your friend can be the only thing you can do sadly, but also be sure to take things easy on yourself. Sending love and support 💕

Just be there for her. That’s all I can say. It sucks when you’re going through something hard and people just back away. Be there and present with her.

Sending my prayers … keep talking to her and let her know that she is loved… and remember that it’s ok to grieve. Allow yourself to feel… take small breaks if you need to have some time to recollect yourself ♥️🙏🏻

I am so sorry about your friend. Just let her know every day how much you love her. Show her you are strong for her. She needs you now more than ever
