This is tmi but I turned 21 in October and I had my first OBGYN appointment and pap but I couldn’t finish the pap cause it caused pain and I cried. Now I have to go dialters and I’m scared to do those too cause of pain. I know I need to get a pap here soon because I’ve been worried about this spot my dr saw and said “we need to keep an eye on that”. It’s been 5 months and I still have yet to start the dialter therapy. Any tips? Or ideas?

Never tmi here! I am also 21 and also cried during my first pap which was years ago. I just had an appointment with an endo specialist and he was pushing on my pelvic floor muscles (through my vagina) and I almost started crying. Also had a transvaginal US done and those definitely hurt as well. They used an excessive amount of lube knowing penetration hurts me and that seemed to help a little.

Not at all! I was terrified for my first obgyn appointment this year. I am 21 too. I had to have an internal ultrasound and I cried. As far as the pain itself goes I'm not sure how to get through that yet, but what I can say is stand up for yourself. If something hurts than let your doctor know. My doctor and nurses have been very understanding when I have told them something hurts. I hope you are able to find something that works for you!

Not TMI at all! Feel free to message me, I went from being unable to insert a tampon to being able to use one of the larger dilators! But are you seeing a pelvic floor PT? It’s really hard to figure out dilators on your own, that guidance is so important!
