Any anxiety sufferers struggling with memory loss? I can’t figure out if it’s the anxiety or my medication (Prozac) :(

heres skme of the tips i promised: i write a lot of things down. i sent inportant info to other ppl bc just talking about it in text or in person can make it easier for you to remember. like if i have an appt ill send the appt info to someone i trust. i luke knowing i can search my msgs for it. there are a lit of notetaking things that can be really helpful. if its jmportant i like to have a voice recording of it so i can look at it again. i have folders in my phjne camera if things i need to remember both short and ling term and its nice to have those right where you need them. do brain teasers and puzzles. it sounds dumb but vy working out your brain you can start to remember stuff better. have physical reminders of things where you can see them. i write important things on my mirrors. that can also go a different direction too tho. i always have my google maps pulled up when i drive. even when i know where im going. because i have had a lot of trouble with dissociation and memory issuse that have led to me frequently getting lost. i know i have more. but im forgetting at the moment 🥴

Thank you for the tips, roo 💕

I’m not sure what messes with my memory and I hadn’t considered anxiety before. I have ADHD, fibromyalgia, and chronic pain issues so I usually figure it’s one of them.

yes on the reminders^^ thats a good one
Here is one tip: I set a lot of reminders and alarms on my phone. They are annoying, but maybe that's what makes them work haha.

It IS always comforting to know I’m not alone. The consensus also seems to lean more towards the anxiety being the issue than the medication. I’m going to have a talk with my psychiatrist this month about this as well. Thank you for all your comments!! ❤️
myownroo, what are your tips?
same but my psychiatrist seems to think it’s adhd but it’s TERRIBLE memory like short term and long term since i have ptsd too but like ugh it’s good to know it’s not just me lol but still i understand when everyone gets upset or irritated when you can’t recall anything or the last conversation u just had or things about a person. I don’t take prozac i take zoloft but ive had the memory problem since before i started taking anything so i don’t think it’s ur meds
you are definitely not alone in the scary memory loss thing though if knowing that helps any 💕
mood disorders can def give you memory loss problems. i was sent to the er by my dr but they found it was nothing physical and all had to do with my anxiety and depression. there are ways ypu can hack your brain and your memory (i have lots of tips if you need some) and i did some speech therapy bc of it. but ya. it can be confusing and worrisome and you should mention it to your health care team but its not very surprising to a lot of therapists.

Yes it’s not severe enough to heavily impact my life, but it’s definitely noticeable. I’m having trouble discerning whether it’s my ADHD or GAD
Yeah, and like someone mentioned mine has a lot to do with trauma, and now, weed usage
Yes! 😥 I hate it and it scares me that I’ll develop a long term memory disorder

Yes. So much that it affects my work performance. I don’t know if it’s the conditions or the medications that are causing the memory loss. 😥
I agree, I also have fibromyalgia and PTSD and I attribute the memory issues to those disorders more than GAD. I’ve never been on prozac but I didn’t deal with memory issues when first starting Zoloft, it was only after I was diagnosed with PTSD that it started hindering daily function
Yes, I suffer from a short term memory loss. I’ve never linked it to my anxiety. Interesting…
I do struggle with memory loss, especially short term. I'm not sure if I can contribute it to anxiety though, because I have other conditions (i.e. fibromyalgia) that can cause memory loss.
