Have had gerd since I was 8. Tried every medication but the best one is pantoprazole. You will need a RX for it but it WORKS.

I have been suffering with acid reflux for the last couple of years or so and it’s evident that medical doctors will prescribe medication for this treating I believe only the surface reason behind acid reflux and not the root cause. I believe that my acid reflux root cause is Hpylori. HPylori can be the root cause of mini digestive issues such as acid reflux, gastritis and ulcers to name a few. The problem with taking anti-acids and HPylori is that you must be off of this type of medication for at least 30 days for them to be able to detect if you have the HPylori bacteria. Usually for this bacteria a doctor will prescribe two antibiotics and anti-acids. What holistic doctors are now discovering is also a lot of people suffer from acid reflux because of low stomach acid not an overproduction of acid these over counter anti-acids or prescription drugs will deplete your gut floral and compromise your gut health and of course reduce the hydrochloric acid that you need to kill bacteria and digest food as it goes through your digestive tract. The other thing you want to be aware of is triggers whether it be food or stress. Stress is a huge factor in triggering my acid reflux symptoms. The bottom line in what I’m trying to say is get to the root cause of what’s causing your acid reflux and deal with the root cause.

@Xavier..b well I haven’t tried probiotics, also it seems the omeprazol is not helping. Is there any probiotic you would recommend?

Do you take probiotics? They have helped me a lot as for when I lost my voice 2yrs ago it lasted for almost a week and a half no holding concerts in my truck for the time being the dr gave me cough medicine with Codeine the omeprazole only helps short term but I find when I drink almond milk it goes away warm eucalyptus tea with honey helps as well
