I found out I had Bipolar when I took antidepressants and was sent into a Manic episode. Some symptoms are mood shifts, trouble with sleep (oversleeping then undersleeping), trouble with food (overeating then undereating), and risky behavior

I was diagnosed formally after a manic episode, I had depression as a teenager and mild hypomania when I was a kid (but never knew that’s what it was until later.) My manic episode meant I had a lot of sex with strangers, spent all my savings on shit I didn’t need, thought I was the most beautiful, most intelligent, most capable person ever, got addicted to meth, and was barely sleeping or eating. Bipolar disorder isn’t “mood swings” like many people think but the presence of a manic episode. I would talk to a professional about this!

I have minor bipolar disorder but I struggle with a personality disorder. They are very similar. Major mood swings is the main sign. I felt like I was going crazy and just plain out mean. Especially to my family members and my husband. But recently I found a new counselor and she put me through some testing and I found out. It makes a lot of sense that I have random outburst of anger and mild manic episodes. It runs in my family, but it’s also from childhood trauma. And I’m seeking out medication treatments for it.

i think i first considered it when i realized that my mood turned from happy to angry the fastest out of any emotion. i knew i had depression for years before i even knew what bipolar was, so up until about a year ago i just thought it was due to that. but it started to get worse, and that’s when the mania started. i got addicted to pills and i dropped out of school, so when i went to the doctor and told her, she informed me about bipolar disorder. it was also easy to diagnose me because my father was bipolar, so maybe check if anyone in your family is
