tomorrow i go from my 250 zoloft to 100 and adding 40 prozac. does anyone have experience with this? i’ve been on zoloft for almost three years and have been trying to get it to work for around two. i’m just really scared i’m gonna crash and that the prozac won’t work.

If you can, and I can't stress the "IF" enough, try to talk to your doctor or psychiatrist about tapering off. The effects of long term use of antidepressants and other psychiatric drugs is not well known, and for me, I hit a wall where nothing worked at about the 8 year mark. Not just antidepressants either, stimulants, antipsychotics and even an anticonvulsant as well (off label). If you decide to do this, it MUST be carefully monitored, and I'd recommend finding a therapist that you trust and can visit frequently before you do. I've been drug free for almost a year, and I will not lie to you, it's been very hard. But I know that my brain will eventually chemically adjust (upregulation of receptors). If you have any questions please feel free to message me
Prozac has worked well for several members of my family.
rasin, the reason i’m switching is that i’ve been on the max dose of my current antidepressant for a while and it just isn’t working. i’m honestly really scared to switch, and reading more abt prozac has me worried, but my doc chose it because it’s a relatively easy switch between zoloft and prozac.

prozac sucks imo, i got super depressed when i was on it, but i wasn’t on zoloft at the time.
prozac did not work well for me so if you’re nervous ask your doc to keep an eye on you. also if your meds are working currently you can tell your doctor you don’t want to change it
