I just started lexapro for my depression and anxiety . I’m desperate for it to work as I’m really struggling right now and I feel horrible. Does anyone know how long it takes to work? I’m only two days in but I’m anxious to see results to my life can get back to normal somehow. I’m in therapy as well.

usually with ssris you titrate up so it can take up to 2 to 3 weeks but even then the effects will probably be slight and then keep increasing over the next month and then you figure out the dose you need to be at. it’s a hard process but once you have your meds solidified (i’ve had my med mix solidified for a year now) it’s a huge relief

I felt better after a week. It can take longer, and it may make your symptoms worse, temporarily. Give it a fair shot!

Hey I took 10 mg during the first week and 15 mg since the second week. It took around 2-2.5 weeks for it to kick in

It took a couple of weeks to fully kick in for me but it will get better

It might take about a week or two to see results. when I first started I also was anxiously waiting for it to work but when it kicked it it dis work for me. I also didn't notice right away that it started working but others pointed out changed behavior (in a good way) I hope it helps you!
