yes, i've been to a psychiatrist and therapist and been through a lot of medication. it did help but it takes time to find medication that works for you and for the medication to work. i don't think you should be scared , they're medical professionals and a lot of them actually struggle with mental illness themselves becuase they're in that field. they will understand and try to support you. i think it would be good to see a psychiatrist

Hey z0mbunii, if you don’t mind me asking, do you know any breathing exercises for shortness of breath? I went to the ER Monday morning because it hurt to breathe. They said it might’ve been a muscle pain or related to anxiety. Since then tho, I’ve been feeling like I have a shortness of breath but I feel like it’s in my head because I’m scared of breathing and then the same thing happening

Hey Trina, feel free to reach out to me. I have no clue how this app works and if there’s a DM system, so if you know how, feel free to hit me up!

Hello Lilly, I was diagnosed with anxiety sometime around 2015(my memory is awful). I have medication for it but I mainly use mediation and breathing exercises to manage.

i would not say anxiety medication is addictive. i have been on vistaril for anxiety and it was not addictive. of course it varies but medicine for anxiety that u take as needed might be, but medicine you take daily doses of isnt addictive

That’s v true, I think that’s just something I need to discuss with the psychiatrist

I haven't had any addiction to mine, but I'm sure it varies based on the meds themselves

Would y’all say the medication is addictive? When I talked with my therapist she said that the problem with anxiety medication is that it’s addictive

I'm on medication for both, and it they have helped me a ton. I'm not struggling as much with unfamiliar situations, and I'm managing a lot better with my mood as well

If you don’t mind me asking, I’ve never been to a psychiatrist before to get diagnosed (but I’ve seen my therapist and based on my psychology classes I’m p sure I have both), did you ever get treatments for it and did it help? I’ve noticed how bad anxiety and depression affected my physical health so I’m hoping I can reach out to someone to get treated but I’m also kind of scared
