My friend threw up on Sunday and I was in close contact with her on Monday. And now I’m freaking out that I might have caught a bug from her. I can’t sleep or function I am so anxious. And advice or support?

I'm in therapy for this. The biggest thing that I do is truth it out. Yes, you were in close contact but that doesn't mean you'll get sick. If you are healthy, have a good immune system, take vitamins, etc then the chances are lower. My big thing is I never touch my face unless I've cleaned them either with washing or hand sanitizer. And I almost never share food/drinks. There's some breathing techniques I like - in 4, out 4; in 4 out 6; in 4, hold 7, out 8. Try to find a calm environment and listen to calming music. Trust your immune system. Dm me if you want to talk more. I feel for you hun. I would be in the same position.

@Bookworm23 I should also say - Candles are a huge life savor for me because the scents are relaxing. Bath and body works has great candles and body sprays to help with relaxation. Also, truthing it out, was she actually sick on Sunday or was it something else? And if she was sick, would she still be contagious on Monday, or contagious enough to get you sick? Look for the facts

One way to deal with this anxiety is to remind yourself that you cannot control everything and focus on maintaining good hygiene. Try engaging in activities that help you relax, such as deep breathing, listening to music, or going for a walk. Drinking water and eating carefully can also help ease your worries about upsetting your stomach. Remember that anxiety can cause physical symptoms, so finding ways to manage it may alleviate some of your concerns.
