My bpd friends, is there any medication that has worked for you? Or helped at all? Anti depressants/ mood stabilisers? Going to talk to gp about it.

I'm on Gabapentin, Duloxotine and Quietepine. I'm stable on this combination xx

Citalopram is the only one that’s worked for me out of the many I’ve tried. I’m relatively stable while on it.

I take a mix of Seroquel, cymbalta, and depakote, and they've evened me out to the point where I no longer have mood swings save for maybe once every month or two. Depakote can cause alopecia, and reportedly can make your hair gray (I have the gray hair of someone in their forties despite being 23, and my hair has thinned out on the top of my head) so you'll need to weigh whether or not you're okay with possibly losing your hair while on the med

I take quetiapine, a mood stabiliser, which has been a total game changer for me. I take other meds for anxiety and low mood, but yeah, the quetiapine has changed my life, no exaggeration.

I’ve found quetiapine has worked wonders for me, in a sense of the breakdowns don’t hit half as hard and take me a lot longer to get to that point

I am afab but I’m a trans male (this is relevant). I take this special birth control that doesn’t shift my moods every week. It has the same hormonal blocker every week, same dosage, and I’m not allowed to go on my period. That really helped with all the hormone bpd, I’m also on fluoxetine and geodon! Those really help me!

A mood stabilizer might help~ I found they worked for tilting my bipolar one way or the other (hypomanic for months, zombie-like/depressive for others/on higher dosages), but not for finding middle ground with BD2 or BPD 😮‍💨if anything, it helped me become more aware of splitting and mood flips, and able to apologize faster for them. But everyone's different! 💕 what may have worked for someone may not work for someone else. And vice versa. It's worth having a conversation with your doctor about it, and trying options until you find one that works for you 🥰 maybe even targeting specific symptoms 🤔 I was told I could be given something for helping calm anger but it was kinda swept under the rug with trying to manage depression and anxiety

I struggle with intense moods and mood switches the most.
