How do y’all deal with the side effects of cabergoline? I’ve been on it for 2 weeks now and the past 2 days have been horrible. Constant nausea and light headness, I feel like I’m about to feint if I do anything like make my bed or reach for something in my pantry followed by a headache. My appetite has been pretty low due to the nausea as well:(

I stopped taking it twice during pregnancies and again recently. I haven’t noticed any additional side effects but I’m chronically ill with dysautonomia. They say cabergoline can cause some of my symptoms. In any case, try taking with dinner and maybe you can sleep off the effects. If it persisted, maybe ask to try the alternative med.

I take it at dinner with a heavy meal and that prevents the nausea. Cabergoline is known to drop blood pressure so consider taking your blood pressure when you feel the headaches or feel faint upon standing. Inform your doctor of the results.

So I used to take 0.5mg once a week and after about a month, every time I took it the following day I would be so exhausted to the point I was falling asleep in the car after work (once it got that point I called my endo.) It did make me slightly nauseous but I didn’t experience as many physical side effects as mental. Does your headache last the entire rest of the day when you do something like make your bed? Or do things like more water tylonel and closing your eyes help? If not I’d just bring it up to your doctor!
