Does anyone else get overwhelmed easily with the amount of “stuff” you have? Like furniture, clothes, clutter, papers, etc. sometimes I get really bothered thinking about how much “stuff” I have and it makes me uncomfortable. I definitely need to keep up with clutter better but sometimes I feel like I want to just get rid of everything 😅

@lyric that’s a good idea, it’s all about that consistent progress/upkeep. For general cleaning I have an app called Tody where you can add your chores and set frequencies for each to help prioritize

This is all really great advice and I’m glad that you all get it!! @littlerolls my worst meltdowns are when I can’t find something, I get so frustrated with myself and spiral into such negative self talk about how “if I just kept things in order” etc so you are not alone in that! I too try to just slow down and breathe before it gets to that meltdown point

It might help to get three bins (yes, buy more stuff haha) and dedicate one to donate, one to selling at a garage sale/Poshmark/fb marketplace/etc, and the last one to storage. Oh, also if you look up a charity you like, see what donations they take and it’ll help you feel better getting rid of it. I come from a family that never throws stuff a way so it’s really hard for me as well, and i found a womens shelter that took donations and phew! I got rid of so much stuff and yet it didn’t feel like waste. It felt really really good.

Oh my gosh absolutely. A week ago i couldn’t find something (funnily enough, my adhd meds) and i legit started sobbing with frustration because of all my crap. Like heave sobbing. It just feels so messy. I realized recently I’m in constant “survival mode” and it’s been a game-changer. It’s why i feel overwhelmed all the time and so I’m trying to take more time to just slow down, breathe, and realize i don’t have to rush everything constantly. And i think having a lot of clutter adds to that stress. For me personally. I recommend looking into that. It helped me a lot. And definitely has to do with adhd imo. Or it could be completely irrelevant to this post but eh whatever! Haha :)

I go through phases of wanting to throw everything out to wanting to buy as much as I can 😅 Generally when I’m overwhelmed by my “stuff”, I’ll try and take a few minutes out of my day to clean a certain part of my house or to organize a certain part, etc.
