Antibiotics and Fibromyalgia: A Painful Combination

Has anyone found that after taking antibiotics their fibromyalgia symptoms are worse ? I finished a z pack for an upper respiratory infection yesterday and have been feeling the start of a flare coming on . I’m exhausted, in pain , and the brain fog is heavy . I hate sitting around doing nothing, however, moving even a little is causing extra pain . Having a really hard time mentally too. I try to remain positive, but the pain plus days lost to this disease makes it difficult sometimes. I’m still trying to find remote work that accommodates my health issues. Any tips ?

      Yes! I always feel like crap after having my microbiomes wiped out- I always get a cold after a round or two of antibiotics too! Sometimes this is enough to cause a flare, but usually the flare is comorbid with everything else going on

      No problem! I’m taking probiotics to help balance my gut flora to help as well . Feel like I got hit by a truck after those antibiotics

      Ahhhhhh this makes so much sense now!!!! Oh my gosh thank you. I just finished THREE rounds of antibiotics and the fibro is awful and was trying to figure out the trigger. There’s been so much going on I didn’t think about the antibiotics being the trigger. THANK YOU.
