Who are the behind-the-ear aid users here, raise your hands! 😊 Have been wearing them since I was 3 years old and I’m 31 now. My first two pairs were Phonak and current pair is Starkey.

Used a BTE hearing aid in my left ear for about 15 years than switched to a processor in the ear hearing aid when I was 16 currently using a resound linx quattro hearing aid.

Me, although it's difficult. I've had hearing loss since birth, but my family refused to acknowledge it properly, so I only got hearing aids recently at the age of 37. It's so HARD getting used to them. I feel so overwhelmed with noise when I wear them, especially out in public. I know I have to wear them to get used to them, but there are times I have to legit pull them out of my ears because I'm almost in tears from the overload.

@Kaiiya I completely understand the struggle! Same boat here, I’m so sorry you had to go through that too 😢

I wear starkey too but I’m interested in possibly switching brands and seeing what else is available

Started on my Phonak one when I was 3-13 then got a Oticon one when I was 13-17 and just this past few years got an in-the-ear resound one that works about the same as my BTE ones, I never cared about people knowing I had hearing aids anyways. Imo BTE ones are far more durable that in-the-ear hearing aids, and I've definitely considered switching back.

I need to get hearing aids. I’ve looked into them and they are so expensive!
