Sensory overload- part of my anxiety and worsened by my head injuries. I’m sorry that you had to experience that. It’s like once it’s triggered every single noise makes you tighten up more and more- you become hyper aware of everything and it feels like you have no way to let go. First I find one of my safe (and quiet) places- then I work on grounding. Sometimes I’ll put on songs I know well that I can imagine every noise that will come next- can even be a piano cover of a song (my favorite for this is the Mary poppins song stay awake or whatever it’s called) try and find one that only uses one instrument so that there are not multiple sounds going on at once. This feeling sucks and it feels like it lasts forever in the moment. If you have rescue meds for your anxiety and feel you should use them, then do so. Try and drink water or anything (not alcohol) like sprite or Gatorade it will give you the grounding of taste and it will help you snap back into real time ♥️♥️♥️ I hope this helps if this happens again in the future

thank you for the advice 💗, i was at an event so there wasn’t lots of quiet places to go but i just stayed away from the bigger crowds. i do plan on buying some noise canceling headphones for when i go out so i can avoid things like this

I don't know where you're from, but weather plays a huge part in my mental and physical health. Rain will literally take me out in one or more ways and it's been raining for like 24 hours by me.

I deal with this too. I started crying yesterday because my husband was eating chips too loudly.

I know and I feel so bad for pointing it out or getting upset over it because I know they can’t help it most of the time
