Hello! My name is katie and I just spent the last 6 months in treatment for my eating disorder and I am trying to go back to college this semester. My eating disorder is still running my life and I am finding it very hard to pay attention to my friends, love interests, classes, etc. I am stuck in the restrict/binge cycle for the most part and struggle with over exercising. I know I need help but I don’t want to ask for it because I do not want anything to change, but I am miserable. Just feeling really stuck. I keep missing my classes because I am so tired and I fear my grades will start slipping soon. I am trying my best, but it doesn’t seem my best is good enough. Has anyone been in this situation? Can anymore offer ANY advice? Thank you for reading this if you are. It’s definitely a cry for help.

I’m stuck in the restrict and binge cycle too. I started using the RR eating disorder recovery app and it’s kinda helpful for me. You can set reminders of when to eat and make them discreet so if someone sees your phone they won’t know what it’s for. And you can log every time you use a behavior or any triggers

Thank you so much! I am currently doing IFs therapy and have tried nearly everything while I was in treatment. Classic YouTube always holding the answers 🙌

I have always viewed my eating disorder as an addiction and I knew I needed help for years but never followed through. All I can say is keep trying different things, don’t give up and you will find a program or treatment that works for you. But I have recently found a lot of the drug/alcohol 12 steps to be helpful. I found a guy on you tube that used the 12 steps to help with his depression - Stephen Hilton, it’s something completely different than traditional eating disorder therapy.
