Any ideas for tips to cope with moments where you “freeze”. The feeling comes on suddenly . I used to be verbally and physically abused , so loud noises trigger that response

I have that happen sometimes, it's not easy to remember to do it but I carry a worry stone, i used to have to force myself to slip my hand into my pocket and for some reason my hand just latches to the stone and i rub it for a few seconds, eventually you'll instinctually reach into your pocket to rub it when triggered instead of freezing

I work in a kitchen (so tons of loud noises). I try to breathe deeply, and remind myself that I’m safe and I’m not back there. Hope you find a good coping mechanism. 🤗

Listen to music it helps me and focus on things around you like certain smells or something you see

That happens to be a lot but I learn either looking and or having something with you that makes you feel safe. For example I have a picture of my bf on my phone case and a picture of my dog in my wallet.
