Navigating Different Beliefs in a System

Yes. An older adult alter holds right wing beliefs associated with the trauma I've experienced. He's an echo of things I've heard growing up in a negative environment. As for how to handle it, I'm accustomed to it and it doesn't even phase me anymore. But it does cause a lot of arguments.

we have Christian and theistic satanist alters as well as some alters who are more conservative about trans issues than others. I, as the host, never think about religion and am very liberal so we all have a basic enough understanding of the politics surrounding our marginalized identities that our conservative alters keep their opinions within our system or between us and our partner system. (as to not cause harm to other people around us). but with the religion topic, I have no idea how we're meant to handle that. we recently had a therapy session where our Christian alter was the subject and up until I started writing this comment, religion was not any concern and I didn't think it would matter at all to our system but my mind is racing and head hurts >_>

There have been some challenges.

Pretty much all of us don't even have a belief system, but one alter is Muslim. She's pretty strict and believes it's wrong for us to do a lot of what we do, even just hanging out with my friends. It's frustrating and we fight with her a lot but she means well in her own way.

We generally have the same political alignments, though some are more PC than others (we're all leftist). But we have a lot of different religions. We're mostly Jewish (converting), but have a christian, and a few of pagans.

We're all pretty polytheistic for the most part. the only thing that tends to change is who we believe actually impacts our life, possibly because different deities might be watching over different deities. Even the Christian-ish alters understand that Satan actually comforts some of us.

As far as I know most of us are agnostic but there's also a few pagans. Some of us do have different stances on religion, though. Some are more wary around religious people than others, either due to bad experiences or simply because of their source or species, etc. As for politics, we don't get involved with that. We know very little about it and don't want to learn more about it either. We prefer to stay as far away from it as possible
