Been on meds for 4 years, finally starting therapy early next week. I have a goal: find a way to talk myself down from having the violent part of the breakdown. Any tips/advice/encouragement for someone just starting therapy?

If you don't click with your therapist you can always find a new one. It's important to be honest. They have heard it all already

Yes, always remember count to ten and then count backwards you'll get so focused trying to count backwards that you'll forget why you were even angry or upset to begin with

It's okay if you don't like them right away, or at all. Just little friends sometimes it takes time to find the right person. Which is worth it

As scary as it is, be open and honest with your therapist from the start. Don’t hide anything or leave out details. It will save you time and money in the end 💙
