Hi. I was diagnosed with Vulvodynia last year. I’ve been struggling with vulvar pain for the past couple years now. My specialist told me that I should go to a pain management clinic. I already take nerve pain medications so I’m not sure what else they could do for me. What are your thoughts?

Pelvic floor physical therapy and dilators helped me lots! Also going off of birth control pills made a huge difference

Have you tried amitriptyline? Not everyone can tolerate it though.

@thick the pill? You mean the birth control pill? Or estrogen pills for atrophy?

I have a pelvic wand from Intimate Rose that massages trigger points, and I do yoga. There’s pelvic floor yoga on YouTube. The Flower Empowered is the name of the channel.

I have tried Premarin estrogen cream, but it has a lot of irritating ingredients, so maybe I need to try a compounded estrogen cream without those ingredients

My doctor gave me estradiol a vaginal cream. Only thing that has helped even though I still get flare ups once/twice a month, way better than before

Yes, I do use topical lidocaine. It’s a lifesaver. I love my pelvic floor PT…I wish it wasn’t so pricey, even with insurance. She’s one of the few professionals that has listened to me thus far…

Do you have topical lidocaine? Also, getting into a pelvic floor specialist was crucial for me, because I found other underlying issues

I already do physical therapy. I do most of it at home right now because I can’t afford as many sessions as before

Hi! For me, my doc ordered a topical gabapentin compound cream & it’s amazing. Also pelvic floor PT :)
